Poland expels Colombian citizen for Nazi salute at Auschwitz
Police at the Auschwitz‑Birkenau Memorial intervened after a Colombian visitor performed a Nazi salute at the site. The man was fined and ordered to leave Poland, with a five‑year ban on entry to the Schengen area. Polish authorities stated the measures protect the sanctity of the former concentration‑camp grounds and uphold respect for the victims of the Holocaust.
The decision applies to the individual offender only and is not intended to target any nationality, officials said. The expulsion follows administrative procedures under Polish law concerning public order and the preservation of historical memory.
