Poland: Experts advise summer sowing and warn of deadly green mushroom

Gardening specialist Joanna Legutko recommends sowing quick‑growing leafy vegetables, herbs and root crops directly into soil or containers during June and July. She advises planting in small batches every 2–3 weeks, watering in the early morning or evening, and using simple mulching to retain moisture. The guidance emphasizes regular, low‑maintenance planting for busy people.

Mushroom expert Justyn Kołek warns that the green lethal Amanita (muchomor zielonawy), also called "forest death," can be mistaken for the edible green puffball. A single mushroom may be fatal; it has a gray‑green cap, white gills and emits a faint artificial‑honey scent. Kołek urges foragers to avoid mushrooms they cannot identify, to collect only species with tubes on the underside, and to discard damaged or animal‑bitten specimens.
