Poland extends national terrorist alert levels until August 2026

Prime Minister Donald Tusk has extended high-level terrorist alert levels across Poland, effective until August 31, 2026. The decision includes the BRAVO and BRAVO-CRP alert levels for the entire country, as well as the CHARLIE alert level for specific sections of railway infrastructure.

The BRAVO level applies to the whole nation and includes Polish energy infrastructure located abroad, signaling an increased and predictable terrorist threat. The BRAVO-CRP level focuses on protecting telecommunications systems and cybersecurity through intensified monitoring of public administration networks. The CHARLIE level is specifically implemented for areas managed by PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe and PKP Linia Hutnicza Szerokotorowa due to elevated risks.

Authorities state these measures are purely preventative, citing the ongoing war in Ukraine, continuous hybrid threats, and the real risk of cyberattacks against critical state infrastructure. While most citizens will not face new restrictions, the measures will result in increased service patrols, more frequent inspections, and intensified surveillance of critical infrastructure.
