Poland farms offer self‑harvest tours as plant‑health rules tighten for tourist souvenirs

Visitors to farms in southeastern Poland can now pick their own lavender, blueberries and young potatoes and pay by the kilogram – for example, lavender costs 80 zł per kg and potatoes 1 zł per kg. The farms provide free parking, rest areas and workshops, promoting direct farm‑to‑consumer sales.

At the same time, EU plant‑health authorities warn travellers that bringing plant material such as seeds, cut flowers or fruit from outside the Union into Poland requires a phytosanitary certificate and may be subject to inspection. Failure to declare such items can result in fines, destruction of the goods or their removal, as overseen by Poland’s State Plant Protection Inspection.
