Poland funds fire‑station retrofit in Wola Kałkowa and new sewage retention tank in Rzeszów

The Volunteer Fire Service building in Wola Kałkowa, Łódź region, will undergo a comprehensive thermomodernisation and shift to renewable energy sources. The 373,942‑zł project, co‑financed by the Regional Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, includes wall insulation, heating‑air‑conditioning units, upgraded lighting, a new garage door and a 17.5 kW photovoltaic system. The contractor ADMAR S.C. was selected as the most advantageous bidder.

Meanwhile, Rzeszów’s municipal water‑sewage company (MPWiK) is midway through a 226‑million‑zł expansion of its wastewater treatment plant. A new 24,000 m³ retention tank, measuring roughly 70 × 69 m and 6 m deep, has passed initial 24‑hour leak tests on two of its four chambers. The tank, funded partly by a 129.5‑million‑zł grant from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, is expected to boost plant capacity by 25 % and meet the city's water‑treatment needs for the next 10‑15 years. Completion of the tank is slated for March 2027, after which pipework and hydraulic equipment will be installed.
