Poland government plans 3% public‑sector pay rise for 2027

Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that the Polish government will increase salaries in the state‑budget sector by 3% for the year 2027. The raise will apply to teachers, civil servants, soldiers and other public‑sector employees and is intended to keep real wages ahead of the forecast 2.5% inflation rate.

The increase is slated to take effect within three months of the adoption of the next budget law, with the first payments starting on 1 January 2027. The proposal will be presented to the Council of Social Dialogue and reviewed by national trade‑union organisations. Economic forecasts accompanying the plan include a 3.1% real GDP growth, a 2.5% consumer‑price growth, and a 5.6% nominal wage growth in both the overall economy and the corporate sector.
