Poland rolls out sports facility upgrades and local athlete awards
The Polish Minister of Sport and Tourism announced the first round of the "Szatnia na Medal" programme, allocating nearly 5 million zł to three municipalities in Krosno County for modernising dressing‑room and sanitary facilities at sports venues. Nationwide, 186 projects covering 270 dressing rooms received more than 51 million zł.
In Poznań, the city and three local clubs were granted 500 thousand zł to refurbish the dressing‑room area of the Malta Regatta Centre’s hangars, part of a larger 1.28 million zł investment in the venue.
Politechnika Gdańska obtained almost 1.2 million zł under the National Academic Representation programme to support 59 student‑athletes pursuing dual careers across 23 sports disciplines.
Separate municipal galas in Krzeszowice, Zakopane and Jasło honoured dozens of athletes, coaches and sports activists for achievements in 2025, with guests such as Olympic ski jumper Kamil Stoch attending the Zakopane event.
