Poland hosts literary initiatives in Stargard and Wrocław
Various cultural initiatives are taking place in Poland to promote reading and literature. In Stargard, Książnica Stargardzka is organizing a local event for the 15th edition of National Reading on September 5, 2026. The community will gather to read Adam Mickiewicz’s “Dziady,” specifically focusing on the second part of the drama known for its folk rituals and dark atmosphere.
In Wrocław, authorities are offering free public transportation on August 22 to coincide with World Book and Copyright Day and World Literacy Day. Passengers can ride buses, trams, and selected regional trains (Koleje Dolnośląskie and POLREGIO) within city limits for free by simply carrying a physical book or an e-book reader to show during inspections.
