Poland hosts prestigious Złote Kolce and Złoty Laur award ceremonies
Two major award ceremonies are taking place in Poland, honoring excellence in athletics and business/social impact.
The Orlen Złote Kolce Śląskie 2026 gala will be held on Friday, October 23, at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów. Organized by the Polish Athletic Association (PZLA) and Przegląd Sportowy, the event serves as the season finale for Polish athletics. Awards will be presented to the best athletes, coaches, and rising stars, including categories for masters, para-athletes, and mountain/ultra-running specialists.
Separately, the XIII Złoty Laur 'Super Biznesu' gala was held on October 20 at the Hotel Bellotto in Warsaw. The ceremony honored key figures shaping Polish reality. Professor Leszek Balcerowicz received the 'Personality of the 35th Anniversary' award for his role in Poland's economic transformation. Orlen S.A. was recognized for 'Energy Transformation,' and Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego was honored for 'Business and Innovation.' A significant moment of the evening was the 'Personality of the Year' award presented to Andrzej Poczobut, a Belarusian political prisoner, with a laudation delivered by Nobel laureate Ales Bialacki.
