Poland hosts record-breaking infrastructure and architectural feats
Poland features two notable architectural records: the country's longest road bridge and one of the world's narrowest houses.
The longest road bridge in Poland is located on the A1 motorway near Grudziądz. Spanning 1,953.6 meters across the Vistula River valley, the structure includes extensive viaducts to navigate the wide floodplain. Completed between 2009 and 2011, the bridge serves as a critical transport link connecting northern and southern Poland.
In Warsaw, a unique narrow house stands between buildings on Chłodna and Żelazna streets. Designed by architect Jakub Szczęsny, the structure measures just 92 cm in width. It faces competition from a new 63 cm wide construction in Peru, though the Polish site remains a significant architectural landmark.
