Poland hosts special Olympics athletics meets in Białystok and Kamienna Góra
On 30 May 2026, the 2nd POZLA qualifying meet was held at Białystok's Wojciech Nowicki stadium. Eleven START Białystok athletes competed in 100 m, 200 m and shot put, achieving five personal bests and eight season bests as they prepared for the Paralympic junior and senior championships in Warsaw in June. The event was funded by the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and regional authorities.
A week earlier, on 27 May 2026, the Special Olympics athletics competition took place at the municipal stadium in Kamienna Góra. Representatives of the SOSW Zgorzelec club "Moc" secured multiple podium finishes, including a gold medal in the 4 × 400 m relay and first‑place victories in several individual events such as the 100 m, 200 m, 400 m and shot put. The performances were praised by local officials and spectators.
