Poland identified as highly vulnerable to AI labor market shifts

Poland has been identified as one of the countries most vulnerable to the social and economic impacts of artificial intelligence development. According to the Human Capital Vulnerability to AI Index (HCVAI), developed by researchers at Poltava National Technical University, the country faces challenges regarding how prepared its workforce and institutions are for the AI-driven transformation.

The index measures vulnerability across five areas: job automation susceptibility, worker readiness for new skills, institutional support capacity, the impact of migration on labor resources, and the level of AI development and utilization. A higher score indicates a greater difficulty for the economy and workers to adapt to these changes.

Experts suggest that rather than mass job replacement, the primary challenge lies in the need for human-centric skills. There is a growing emphasis on interpersonal relationships and teamwork to complement AI capabilities. This shift may impact the future of remote work, as companies like Microsoft have already moved toward mandatory office attendance to foster the collaborative environments that machines cannot replicate.
