Poland fuel prices to rise this weekend with diesel exceeding 8 PLN
The Polish Ministry of Energy has announced new maximum retail fuel prices effective from Saturday, October 10, through Monday, October 12, 2026. All fuel types are seeing price increases compared to Friday levels, with diesel experiencing the most significant rise, surpassing the 8 PLN per liter threshold.
The new maximum limits are set at 6.97 PLN for 95-octane gasoline, 7.85 PLN for 98-octane gasoline, and 8.06 PLN for diesel. These adjustments are part of the third phase of the ‘Ceny Paliwa Niżej’ (CPN) program, a government initiative designed to mitigate rising costs for drivers through VAT and excise tax reductions.
The CPN program is scheduled to remain in effect until the end of 2026, with an estimated cost of approximately 5 billion PLN. To fund these measures, the government is implementing a 60 percent tax on the extraordinary profits of fuel companies. Failure to comply with the established maximum price limits can result in fines of up to 1 million PLN.
