Poland implements healthcare reforms and medical staffing regulations

Poland is undergoing significant healthcare reforms aimed at increasing transparency and optimizing the use of public funds. The Council of Ministers has approved legislative projects to regulate medical personnel employment and compensation. Key measures include capping total working hours at the equivalent of two full-time positions and setting maximum monthly salaries at 16 times the minimum wage. These changes aim to prevent overlapping schedules and ensure better staffing stability.

Additionally, the National Health Fund (NFZ) is implementing a central electronic registration system (AP-KOLCE) for various medical procedures. This system is designed to detect patients who are registered for the same procedure at multiple facilities, which has previously inflated waiting list statistics. New regulations also update how medical professionals are identified in documentation and how patient data is transmitted to the NFZ.

Further administrative updates include changes to the documentation of postgraduate training for doctors and dentists, with new standardized forms expected to be in effect by October 2026.
