Poland implements new parking zones and addresses marking misinformation

Local authorities in Poland are implementing new parking measures and addressing misinformation regarding road markings.

In Zakopane, orange-colored parking spaces have been introduced to assist permanent residents. These spots are reserved exclusively for those holding a Zakopane Resident Card and an active ‘Zakopiańczyk’ subscription. Located near essential services like banks and post offices, these spaces allow a maximum stay of 60 minutes. Tourists using these spots without authorization may face significant fees.

Separately, false information has circulated online regarding blue-and-yellow markings in Raszyn. Social media posts incorrectly claimed these zones were reserved exclusively for Ukrainian citizens. In reality, these markings designate ‘Kiss & Ride’ zones, intended for short-term stops to drop off or pick up passengers, such as parents at the Cyprian Godebski Primary School. Such color schemes are used in various Polish cities to help drivers quickly identify specialized zones.
