Poland implements new PKD 2025 business classification
Poland is transitioning to a new Polish Classification of Activities (PKD 2025), which replaced the PKD 2007 standard for all new business registrations as of January 1, 2025. While existing companies may continue using old codes until the end of 2026, any update to a business entry in the Central Register and Information on Economic Activity (CEIDG) now requires a transition to the 2025 classification.
Failure to manually update codes may result in the Central Statistical Office (GUS) automatically reclassifying them based on connection keys. However, because one old code may correspond to multiple new ones, experts recommend manual updates to ensure the business profile remains accurate. The new system significantly restructures the IT sector, splitting the former group 62.0 into three distinct categories: programming, IT consultancy and device management, and other IT services.
Additionally, updating business information may trigger new administrative requirements. For entrepreneurs registered before January 1, 2025, submitting any change to their CEIDG entry after July 1, 2025, will require providing data to establish an e-Delivery address or indicating an existing address from a qualified provider. Those who do not change their entries will face the e-Delivery mandate by October 1, 2026.
