Poland launches 2027 personal assistant program for people with disabilities

The Polish Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy has announced the call for applications for the 2027 edition of the Personal Assistant for Persons with Disabilities program. Funded by the Solidarity Fund, the program aims to provide accessible support for daily activities and social integration. The planned budget for the 2027 edition is 1.2 billion PLN.

Various local government units across Poland, including Bojanów, Wieliczka, Baranów, Kowala-Stępocina, Bytów, and Zgorzelec, are preparing to apply for these funds. These municipalities are conducting social diagnoses to assess the needs of their residents to secure financing.

The program targets children aged 2 to 16 with specific disability certifications requiring constant care, as well as individuals with significant or moderate disabilities. Services include support with self-care, household management, mobility, and social communication. These services are intended to supplement, not replace, traditional caregiving roles.
