Poland implements youth mental health and emotional intelligence initiatives
Various initiatives in Poland are focusing on the mental health and emotional development of children and adolescents. In Warsaw, a new program has been launched under the ‘Młoda Warszawa’ initiative to develop emotional intelligence among teenagers aged 15 to 19. The program, funded by the city, offers ten one-hour sessions starting in September to help participants recognize emotions, manage stress, and improve communication skills.
In Wieliczka, a conference was held at the Powiatowy Kampus Kultury to address similar challenges. Organized by the Wieliczka County Family Assistance Center, the event brought together specialists to discuss recognizing signs of psychological distress and providing effective support. Speakers, including Wieliczka Starosta Roman Ptak, emphasized the importance of building security and self-worth in youth to combat pressures from school, social media, and social expectations.
