Poland insurance market reaches 90.6 billion PLN amid rising fraud
The Polish insurance market is experiencing significant growth, with total paid premiums reaching 90.6 billion PLN in 2025, a 5.8% increase from the previous year. This growth, driven largely by the property and personal insurance segments, has outpaced the annual inflation rate of 3.6%.
However, the sector faces rising risks from unpaid premiums and fraudulent activities. According to a report by the Polish Insurance Chamber, insurance fraud exceeded 800 million PLN in 2025, representing an 18% year-on-year increase. Fraudulent behavior is increasingly occurring during the initial contract phase through the use of stolen or falsified data, as well as during premium payment processes.
