Poland investigates potential airspace violation from Belarus

The Polish Operational Command of the Armed Forces investigated a potential violation of Polish airspace on Sunday, September 6, after radar systems detected an unidentified object approaching from the direction of Belarus.

In response to the detection, military authorities deployed a reconnaissance helicopter to the Lublin Voivodeship to verify the nature of the signal and rule out meteorological anomalies or technical interference. After more than two hours of reconnaissance, military officials confirmed that no security breach occurred.

The radar signals were identified as a large flock of birds passing through the area. Military spokespersons noted that while such occurrences are not unusual, the movement of large groups of birds can occasionally trigger radar responses.
