Poland issues food recalls for glass contamination and Listeria
The Polish Chief Sanitary Inspectorate (GIS) has issued warnings regarding two separate food safety issues involving product recalls.
A batch of beef-pork Bolognese sauce (batch number 154, best before May 30, 2027) is being withdrawn from the market following consumer reports of glass fragments. The product was manufactured by Przedsiębiorstwo Produkcyjno-Handlowo-Usługowe Jóźwiak Dorota Jóźwiak and distributed by Rzeźnictwo Zyguła Zbąszynek. While a veterinary inspection in Międzyrzecz found no production irregularities or other instances of glass, the exact source of the contamination remains unidentified.
Separately, Carrefour Polska has voluntarily recalled Carrefour Classic pork serdelki (300g, batch number 010920226, best before September 1, 2026). The recall was initiated after internal testing detected Listeria monocytogenes. The product was manufactured by Zakłady Mięsne Stanisławów. Health authorities warn that listeriosis can be particularly dangerous for pregnant women, newborns, and immunocompromised individuals.
