Poland issues government safety guidelines for crisis preparedness

The Polish government, through the Ministry of Interior and Administration, the Ministry of National Defence, and the Government Centre for Security, has issued safety guidelines to prepare citizens for various crisis scenarios. These scenarios include natural disasters, infrastructure failures, blackouts, and military threats.

Key recommendations for households include maintaining a 72-hour supply of essentials. Each person should have at least 9 liters of water for three days, along with ready-to-eat food. Families are advised to prepare individual evacuation backpacks, establish meeting points in case of communication failure, and keep cash on hand in case electronic payment systems become unavailable.

Regarding medical preparedness, the official guide warns that hospitals may become overwhelmed during a crisis. Citizens are encouraged to maintain a well-stocked first aid kit containing essential medications, antiseptics, and bandages. The government emphasizes that individuals should be prepared to manage non-life-threatening health issues independently and possess basic first aid skills, as professional emergency services may face delays during large-scale events.
