Poland summons Russian ambassador after Kh‑101 missile lands in Lublin region

A Russian Kh‑101 cruise missile entered Polish airspace and struck near the village of Tarnawa‑Kolonia in the Lublin region on the night of 29‑30 July 2026. No injuries or casualties were reported. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk summoned the Russian ambassador to the foreign ministry and announced the action on the social platform X. Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak‑Kamysz said the missile was produced near Moscow in the second quarter of 2026. NATO confirmed contact with Poland, reaffirmed its commitment to defend member territory, and scrambled fighter jets to intercept the projectile. The incident has heightened concerns that the war in Ukraine could spread to NATO states.
