Poland issues severe storm warning as heatwave pushes temperatures above 30 °C

Poland's Institute of Meteorology and Water Management has issued a level‑2 warning for thunderstorms across much of the country, marking the second consecutive day of temperatures exceeding 30 °C. The alert predicts intense rainfall of 25‑40 mm, wind gusts reaching 85‑100 km/h, and occasional hail, especially in the Greater Poland region and the Rawicz district. Authorities warn of potential local flooding, damage to crops and property, and advise residents to secure outdoor items, avoid parking under trees, and seek shelter during the storm.

Meteorologists note that the hot air mass will continue to move toward the nation early next week, with cooler conditions expected later. Emergency services reported a modest rise in incidents, mainly related to fallen trees and debris, emphasizing the need for public vigilance.
