Poland labor market shifts toward skilled trades and Southern European talent

The Polish labor market is experiencing significant shifts in both vocational training and international recruitment. Breaking traditional gender stereotypes, the Crafts Guild in Gostyń recently signed a training agreement with a young woman of Ukrainian origin, marking the first female bricklayer in the guild's history. This highlights a shift toward more diverse participation in traditionally male-dominated trades.

On an international scale, Poland is positioned to transition from a labor exporter to a talent importer. Due to deindustrialization and high youth unemployment in Southern Europe, Polish businesses have an opportunity to recruit highly qualified engineers and technicians from countries such as Greece, Spain, and Italy. By leveraging modern Industry 4.0 technologies and a favorable purchasing power parity, Polish employers may compete effectively for these specialized professionals.
