Poland launches 2026/2027 COVID-19 vaccination campaign

Poland has initiated the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines for the 2026/2027 season. Vaccination points can begin ordering supplies for individuals aged 12 and older starting September 11, while orders for pediatric versions for younger children are scheduled to begin on September 29.

The primary vaccine being utilized is the updated Spikevax XFG from Moderna, which has been adjusted to target more recent coronavirus variants. Dosage varies by age: individuals aged 12 and older receive a 50-microgram dose, while children aged 5 to 11 receive a 25-microgram pediatric dose. For children aged six months to four years, the administration may follow either a single-dose or two-dose schedule depending on their vaccination history and previous infections.

Vaccinations are free of charge, as the Ministry of Health funds the vaccine preparations and the National Health Fund (NFZ) covers the costs of qualification and administration. Patients do not require an e-referral and can book appointments directly at participating primary care clinics or pharmacies. Health officials recommend priority vaccination for seniors over 60, individuals with co-existing medical conditions, and children.
