Poland launches “Childhood Without Violence” campaign

The “Childhood Without Violence” campaign, organized by the Fundacja Dajemy Dzieciom Siłę and the National Coalition for Child Protection, aims to mobilize Polish society to prevent child abuse and ensure safe environments for children to grow up.

Research conducted by the foundation highlights the scale of the issue in Poland, noting that 79% of children have experienced violence or neglect at least once. Additionally, approximately 80% of society accepts shouting as a form of upbringing, and nearly 40% of Poles accept the use of physical punishment, despite a ban on such practices in place since 2010.

The campaign involves various institutional partners, including the Commissioner for Children's Rights, the National Police Headquarters, and the National Health Fund. It encourages participation from schools, local government units, and educational organizations through awareness activities and symbolic events, such as lighting buildings red on November 19 to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Children.
