Poland launches environmental education and rural energy programs

Poland is launching new initiatives focused on environmental protection and renewable energy. The Energa company has started the fifteenth edition of its ‘Planeta Energii’ program, which targets primary school students, kindergarteners, and teachers. This year’s theme focuses on water resource protection, small-scale retention, and circular economy practices. The program includes activities such as biodiversity zone construction and the distribution of ‘BioPakiety Przyjaciela Wody’ to 100 schools.

Separately, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) is opening the third call for applications for the ‘Energia dla wsi’ (Energy for the Village) program. Running from October 1, 2026, to January 31, 2027, the call has a budget of 400 million PLN. The program provides loans and grants to farmers and energy cooperatives for installing photovoltaic, wind, hydro, and biogas installations, as well as energy storage systems. The initiative aims to increase the use of renewable energy in rural areas and improve energy security.
