Poland launches heating voucher program with up to 3500 zł aid

From 1 July 2026 the Polish government will open applications for a heating voucher (bon ciepłowniczy) that subsidises district‑heating costs. Eligible households must have a monthly income not exceeding 3 272,69 zł for a single‑person household or 2 454,52 zł per person in multi‑person households and must be connected to a municipal heating network where the net price of heat exceeds 170 zł per gigajoule.

The subsidy is tiered according to the heat price: 1 000 zł for prices between 170‑200 zł/GJ, 2 000 zł for 200‑230 zł/GJ, and the maximum 3 500 zł for prices above 230 zł/GJ. About 400 000 households are expected to apply, with most receiving the lowest tier. Applications can be submitted until 31 August 2026 at local social‑welfare offices or electronically via the mObywatel app, accompanied by income documents and proof of heating price. Payments are scheduled for the third quarter of 2026. The scheme also covers eligible foreign residents, such as permanent‑residence holders or refugees.
