Poland launches multiple citizen signature campaigns for hunting law reform and mayoral referendum

Two citizen‑driven initiatives are collecting signatures across Poland. Akcja Demokracji is seeking 100,000 handwritten signatures by 31 August to amend the Hunting Law, proposing tighter safety rules, bans on controversial hunting methods and greater transparency of the Polish Hunting Association.

In Warsaw, volunteers in orange vests have begun gathering signatures for a referendum to recall Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski. Organisers aim to collect at least 132,000 valid signatures by 28 September, the threshold needed to trigger a citywide vote. The campaign, led by Maciej Wilk, has set up dozens of collection points in various districts.

Both drives rely on in‑person paper signatures and aim to influence national legislation and local governance respectively.
