Poland conducts nationwide ALARM‑2026 siren test
On Tuesday, 21 July 2026, Poland will carry out a country‑wide civil‑defence drill codenamed “ALARM‑2026”. From 07:00 to 19:00, sirens will sound in towns and cities across all voivodeships, including Gmina Dębno, Piotrków Trybunalski, Toruń, Bielsko‑Biała and many counties. The exercise is intended only to verify the technical performance of the public‑alert system, the flow of information between ministries, local authorities and emergency services, and the readiness of the population for a possible air‑strike warning. It is organised by the Ministry of the Interior and Administration in cooperation with the Government Security Centre and the Ministry of Defence. A backup date of 22 July is scheduled if conditions prevent the test on the 21st. Authorities repeatedly stress that the siren sounds are purely test‑related, there is no real danger, and residents should remain calm, avoid calling emergency numbers and not take any evacuation actions.
