Poland launches new safety and military education initiatives for students

The Polish Ministry of Education and the Ministry of National Defense have introduced new programs aimed at enhancing safety awareness and resilience among students. The Ministry of Education released two safety guides, ‘Wiedza moją Tarczą’ (Knowledge is my Shield), tailored for different age groups. The guides for younger students (grades I-III) use characters to teach emergency calls, internet safety, and responses to fires or floods, while the guides for older students (grades IV-VII) focus on recognizing threats, evacuation procedures, and civil defense.

Simultaneously, the sixth edition of the ‘Edukacja z wojskiem’ (Education with the Military) program has launched. This joint initiative between the defense and education ministries involves soldiers and veterans conducting theoretical and practical lessons. The program covers military basics, medical aid, and civil defense. To date, nearly 600,000 students from approximately 13,000 schools have been trained, with an additional 1,500 schools set to participate in the upcoming phase.
