Poland launches regional history and tradition projects

The Museum of Polish History has announced the second edition of the “Flame of Memory” project, an initiative inviting schools, libraries, cultural centers, and scouting troops to participate. The program aims to uncover forgotten local histories and honor regional heroes—including teachers, doctors, firefighters, and community activists—by adding their stories to an interactive national map of memory. The project is free to join, with participation running through December 12, 2026.

In a separate cultural initiative, the Ucieleśnienie Foundation is hosting a series of events titled “Dziady – A Celebration of Memory and Community” in Legionowo. Inspired by ancient ancestral rites, the program includes musical performances and workshops designed to explore themes of loss, reflection, and generational bonds. Scheduled events include the “Nieuchronne” concert on October 28, 2026, and educational sessions regarding the symbolism of traditional customs.
