Poland launches regional microgrant competitions to support local NGOs
Two Polish municipalities have opened microgrant competitions for nonprofit organizations. In the Podlaskie region, the "Podlaskie Lokalnie" project, together with the Active Go cooperative, will award grants of up to 7,000 zł to groups of at least three adults for activities such as festivals, training and cultural events. The programme, funded with 172,575 zł from the NIW‑CRSO Citizen Initiative Fund, accepts applications online until 23 July 2026, with projects to be carried out between 24 August and 16 November 2026.
Meanwhile, Poznań’s City NGO Centre is allocating a pool of 50,000 zł for up to ten NGOs, offering grants of up to 5,000 zł each. Applications close on 16 July 2026. The funding is intended for organisational development, staff training, strategy planning, equipment purchases and financial management, and is provided from the city budget without any required co‑financing.
Both initiatives aim to strengthen civil‑society capacity at the local level by providing modest financial support for project implementation and organisational growth.
