Poland launches sectoral CSIRT and issues new cyber‑security guidance for residents
From 3 October 2027 Poland’s Technical Supervision Office (Urząd Dozoru Technicznego) will operate a sector‑specific Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT). The new mandate, introduced by an amendment to the national cyber‑security law, will cover roughly 38,000 entities – about 27,000 public institutions and 11,000 private firms in sectors such as manufacturing, chemicals, space, ICT, postal services, waste management, and electric‑vehicle charging infrastructure. The CSIRT will identify threats, assist with incident handling, monitor emerging hazards, issue warnings and recommendations, and coordinate with national and other sectoral CSIRTs to strengthen digital resilience.
In parallel, local authorities such as the Gmina Bobrowo municipal office publish public advice on the most common cyber threats – phishing, smishing, vishing, impersonation of banks or officials, fake websites, malware, ransomware, identity theft, AI‑generated fraud, and more – and outline protective steps like cautious handling of messages, verifying links, using strong unique passwords and password managers. Both initiatives reflect a broader effort to raise cyber awareness and protect devices, data and financial resources across Poland.
