Poland launches weather-related compensation programs
The Polish government has launched a compensation program for farmers affected by adverse weather conditions this year, including spring frosts, heavy rains, and hurricanes. Managed by the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture (ARiMR), the support offers up to 3,000 PLN per hectare depending on the scale of crop loss. Specifically, farms with losses of at least 70 percent can receive 3,000 PLN/ha, those with 50 to 70 percent losses can receive 2,000 PLN/ha, and those with 30 to 50 percent losses are eligible for 1,000 PLN/ha. Applications must be submitted electronically through the ARiMR system starting October 22, and losses must be verified by an assessment commission.
Additionally, a new call for applications has opened for agricultural producer groups seeking funding for food promotion. This initiative supports marketing and information activities for products with verified quality and origin.
