Poland arrests man for fraudulent pizza orders and threats

A 23-year-old man from Szczecin, Poland, has been arrested for orchestrating a massive wave of fraudulent pizza orders across the country. The suspect is facing charges of stalking, identity theft, and causing significant financial damage to businesses.

Using stolen personal information, the individual placed hundreds of cash-on-delivery (COD) orders to random addresses in cities including Szczecin, Wrocław, Kraków, and Warsaw. In one notable instance, the suspect ordered 300 pizzas valued at approximately 37,000 PLN (roughly $10,000 USD) to pressure a family into accepting the delivery.

Beyond the financial impact on restaurants, the suspect allegedly included serious threats with the orders, such as threats of kidnapping, arson, and causing traffic accidents. These actions reportedly caused significant psychological distress and panic among the victims. The Cybercrime Prevention Bureau seized electronic devices during a search of the suspect's home. If convicted, he faces up to eight years in prison.
