Poland marks 87th anniversary of World War II outbreak
Commemorative events are being held across Poland to mark the 87th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II.
In Barwice, local authorities, schools, and community representatives gathered at Freedom Square to pay tribute to the victims of the war. The ceremony included the laying of flowers at a monument and emphasized the importance of passing historical memory to younger generations, including participation from local preschool children.
In Zamość, the anniversary will be observed on September 9 with a series of scheduled events. The program includes a Holy Mass at the Zamość Cathedral, followed by a patriotic ceremony and wreath-laying at the Rotunda Zamojska, concluding with a symphonic concert.
