Poland Ministry of Agriculture revises fertilizer subsidy project
The Polish Ministry of Agriculture has revised its proposal for fertilizer and fuel subsidies intended for farmers affected by rising costs linked to the crisis in the Middle East. Under the new project, the subsidy for fertilizers will cover only 50 percent of the difference between the purchase price and the official reference price. This is a significant reduction from the previous version, which aimed to cover 100 percent of that price difference.
Approximately 345.4 million PLN has been allocated for fertilizer subsidies, while 513.2 million PLN is designated for fuel assistance, bringing the total aid pool to roughly 858.7 million PLN. The Ministry stated that this adjustment is necessary to align the level of support with available funds and the actual economic losses incurred by farms. The calculation will be based on the price difference between the fourth quarter of 2025 and prices after March 1, 2026.
