Poland: Mobile operator shifts and renewable energy auction announcements

In the first half of 2026, Polish mobile users transferred 740,507 phone numbers between operators, representing an 11.8% decrease compared to the same period in the previous year. According to data from the Office of Electronic Communications, Orange saw the most significant growth, ending the half-year with a net gain of 36,894 numbers. Conversely, Plus experienced a substantial loss of approximately 67,675 numbers, while Play recorded a net loss of 20,264 numbers. T-Mobile saw minimal changes, ending the period with a slight net loss.

In the energy sector, the Energy Regulatory Office (URE) has announced seven renewable energy auctions scheduled to take place between November 2 and November 10, 2026. These auctions aim to support over 76 TWh of green energy, with a total estimated value of nearly 25 billion PLN. The majority of this support, valued at over 17.9 billion PLN, is designated for solar photovoltaics and onshore wind power. The auctions will utilize existing price reference levels established in 2023 and will be based on price criteria for new installations.
