Poland infrastructure projects: railway modernizations and new gondola line
Several major infrastructure projects are underway across Poland, focusing on railway modernization and tourism development.
In the Bieszczady region, the revitalization of railway line 108 between Jasło and Nowy Zagórz is progressing. The project includes over 70 kilometers of track modernization, new platforms, and the construction of two tunnels in Krosno to replace dangerous level crossings. The first section between Jasło and Krosno is expected to be operational by 2026, with full completion planned for December 2027. This upgrade aims to reduce travel time from Rzeszów to Nowy Zagórz by approximately 25 minutes.
In Krynica-Zdrój, construction has officially begun on the ‘Krynica Express’ gondola lift. This 2-kilometer line will connect the town center to the Jaworzyna Krynicka station, allowing passengers to reach the summit in approximately 15 minutes. The project is expected to be operational by 2027 and is designed to improve tourist access to the mountain slopes.
Additionally, modernization works are planned for railway line 12 in the Łuków district, specifically the Stoczek Łukowski–Jedlanka route. The project includes new platforms in Jedlanka, improved accessibility for persons with limited mobility, and comprehensive upgrades to tracks, signaling, and electrical infrastructure.
