Poland national handball teams begin training and squad selections
The Polish national handball teams are entering new training phases for upcoming international competitions.
The women's national team has gathered in Katowice for a training camp under coach Arne Senstad. The squad, consisting of 18 players, is preparing for two matches against Iceland: an unofficial training match on Thursday and an official friendly on Saturday at Arena Katowice. This camp serves as a final domestic test before the Women’s EHF EURO 2026, which will be hosted in part by Poland.
On the men's side, coach Jota Gonzalez has announced the 18-player squad for the November European Championship 2028 qualifying matches. Notable absences include Kamil Syprzak due to personal reasons, as well as Arkadiusz Moryto and Szymon Sićko due to health issues. The squad includes potential debutant Patryk Wasiak and experienced players such as Michał Daszek and Maciej Gębala. The men's team is scheduled to begin preparations in Opole on November 1, facing Latvia before traveling to face Romania on November 8.
