Poland negotiates defense equipment sales with Vietnam
Poland is in discussions with Vietnam regarding the sale of various military assets, including Rosomak armored personnel carriers, Krab self-propelled howitzers, artillery ammunition, and coastal defense systems. Polish Deputy Minister of State Assets Konrad Gołota indicated that these talks follow two years of engagement between the Polish Armaments Group and Vietnamese authorities.
As Vietnam seeks to diversify its military procurement away from traditional Russian suppliers due to sanctions, Poland is positioning itself as a competitive option. A key advantage cited is Poland's expertise in modernizing Soviet-era equipment. The proposed cooperation models include direct sales, the transfer of production technologies to Vietnam, and the provision of maintenance and modernization services.
While the exact value of potential orders has not been disclosed, official announcements regarding the direction of cooperation are expected soon, with specific contracts potentially being signed in December during a defense trade fair in Vietnam.
