Pułtusk Bypass Opens, Diverting Transit Traffic from City Center

On 19 June a new 20‑km bypass around Pułtusk was opened, comprising a 16.8‑km dual‑carriageway section of DK61 and a 3‑km single‑carriageway stretch of DK57. Funded with €442 million from EU recovery funds, the bypass is intended to reroute transit traffic away from the town, improve safety and increase road capacity.

In Elbląg, works on Wieżowa Street in the historic Old Town will begin next week. The project, valued at 1.39 million PLN with 956 k PLN from the government road‑development fund, will replace the pavement, sidewalks, drainage and lighting, and will close the street to traffic with a detour via Bednarska Street.

Łódź has completed the revitalisation of Zaolziańska Street in the Górna district, installing a new road surface, sidewalks, parking areas and a roundabout at Ciasna Street to ease congestion.

Wrocław’s Żaba Bridge over the Odra River is nearing completion, featuring a new composite deck, anti‑corrosion treatment and modern supports, set to reopen to pedestrians and cyclists next week.

All four projects are part of Poland’s broader effort to upgrade transport infrastructure, with temporary disruptions expected but long‑term benefits for mobility and safety.
