Poland opens nominations for 2026 Volunteer of the Year awards

Various organizations in Poland are currently accepting nominations for the ‘Volunteer of the Year 2026’ and ‘Coordinator of the Year 2026’ awards.

The National Institute of Freedom - Centre for Civil Society Development (NIW-CRSO) is organizing its 7th edition of these competitions as part of the Solidarity Corps program. This year holds special significance as the United Nations has declared 2026 the International Year of Volunteers. Previous editions have honored 66 laureates from diverse professional backgrounds, including educators, IT specialists, and social workers.

On a local level, the Mayor of Kutno has also opened a call for nominations to honor individuals performing unpaid social and charitable work for the residents of Kutno. Nominations for the municipal award can be submitted by non-governmental organizations, local institutions, or residents supported by at least 20 community members. The deadline for Kutno submissions is October 23, 2026, with an awards ceremony planned for December 9, 2026.
