Poland prepares for 2027–2034 EU budget and agricultural funding
Poland is preparing for the upcoming European Union budget cycle spanning 2027 to 2034. Current discussions involve determining funding levels for municipalities, entrepreneurs, farmers, and NGOs. European Parliament member Krzysztof Hetman noted that Poland remains a major beneficiary of EU funds, with over 120 billion euros currently dedicated to cohesion policy. He also highlighted the proposed European Fund for Competitiveness, a new tool valued at nearly one trillion PLN designed to help European industry compete with the United States and China.
In a related legislative development, a new project aims to ensure continued state funding for Polish agricultural organizations to represent their interests within EU structures from 2027 to 2032. The proposal suggests an annual budget of 5 million PLN, totaling 30 million PLN over six years. These funds would cover membership fees and administrative costs in the Polish language for various groups, including the National Council of Agricultural Chambers and young farmers' organizations, ensuring their presence in international agricultural bodies.
