Poland: Prime Minister designates Dec 28, 2026, as day off for civil service
Prime Minister Donald Tusk has designated December 28, 2026, as a day off for members of the civil service corps. This decision serves as compensation for the second day of Christmas falling on a Saturday.
As a result, civil service employees working a standard Monday-to-Friday schedule will receive five consecutive days off from December 24 to December 28, 2026. The regulation, signed on January 5, 2026, was published in the Monitor Polski.
This is the second such compensatory day designated by the Prime Minister for 2026; the first was August 14, to compensate for the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary falling on a Saturday.
