Poland proposes 2027 minimum wage of 4,986 zł, a modest 3.7% rise

The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy has recommended that the 2027 statutory minimum wage be set at 4,986 zł gross per month, up from 4,806 zł in 2026, representing a 3.7% increase. The hourly minimum wage would rise by 1.2 zł to 32.60 zł. The proposal, still subject to approval by the Council of Ministers and consultation with the Social Dialogue Council, is one of the lowest hikes in recent years. Trade unions have called for a higher level, demanding at least 5,200 zł.

The change will affect employer contributions to Poland’s social‑security system (ZUS). Contributions for newly established firms, which use 30 % of the minimum wage as a base, will increase from 1,441.80 zł to 1,495.80 zł per month. Larger firms, whose contributions are based on 60 % of the forecast average salary (projected at 9,971 zł for 2027), will see their bases rise from 5,652.60 zł to 5,982.60 zł. The minimum health‑insurance contribution will also grow slightly, from 432.54 zł in 2026 to about 448.74 zł in 2027.
