Poland: Public opinion split over fuel price dispute and political leaders

Recent polling in Poland reveals a deeply divided public regarding political leadership and institutional performance. A SW Research poll for Onet concerning the dispute over fuel prices shows no clear winner between President Karol Nawrocki and Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Approximately 36% of respondents view Nawrocki as the winner, while 34.8% favor Tusk, with nearly 30% remaining undecided. The divide is largely generational: Nawrocki holds higher support among those under 50, whereas Tusk leads among respondents over the age of 50.

Separate data from CBOS indicates that President Nawrocki maintains a 51% approval rating against 40% disapproval. In contrast, public sentiment toward legislative and judicial institutions is largely negative. The Sejm (lower house) faces 57% disapproval, and the Senate sees 42% negative ratings. The Constitutional Tribunal also holds low favorability, with 43% of respondents viewing its work unfavorably, while only 23% hold a positive view.
