Polish municipalities unveil new sports complexes and Orlik upgrades
The gmina of Piekoszów signed a contract to build a modern sports complex in Skałka, valued at about 5.5 million zł with 2 million zł of Ministry of Sport funding; the facility will include a synthetic‑grass football field, a multi‑purpose court, a street‑workout area and supporting amenities, with completion aimed for 2027.
In the neighbouring gmina of Ostrowite, a new Orlik‑type sports centre was completed at a cost of nearly 2 million zł, featuring a synthetic football pitch, a multi‑function court and a three‑lane running track, funded partly by a 1 million zł grant from the Ministry of Sport.
The town of Jastrzębie‑Zdrój allocated 762 thousand zł from the municipal sports budget to modernise its heavily used Orlik on Warszawska street, replacing damaged safety nets, artificial‑grass surface and protective edging, with works scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.
